Bulba, interesting on PRTA. I think what you say makes a lot of sense in terms of the initial decline. I have them on my watchlist now. Like that they are a spin-out from ELN (makes me assign more credibility) rather than some small-cap biotech I've never heard of that doesn't have much of a track record. Do you know when they expect to enter the clinic? Which of their programs are you most excited about?

1/18/13 Contest Update
Another iBad week for Apple held back the Nasdaq Composite Index, but biotech Bears remained in hibernation. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 6.17% YTD (vs. up 5.94% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 6.60% (vs. up 5.54% YTD a week ago). And even with the Apple drag, the Nasdaq Composite Index finished the week up 4.31% YTD (vs. up 3.82% YTD a week ago).
How does he do it? RKRW’s portfolio took the the Contest lead with a 23.93% YTD gain. But No. 2, MOPGCW’s portfolio, up 22.50% YTD, and No. 3, FILO’s portfolio, up 22.30% YTD, are both well within striking distance.
At Friday's close, 35 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 18 of the 39 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables).
Portfolio adjustments: None
Enjoy January’s final weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
Peace & good health,
Bulba
