These databases do not track criminals who have guns, they track law-abiding citizens who have guns.
Criminals steal their guns or get them without informing the government. Why can't you understand that?

No legitimate purpose??? How about capturing criminals with guns...?

Criminals (felons) are not allowed to possess guns today AFAIK. But that has never stopped them from getting them.

It is a dumb concept; criminals don't register firearms and never will. That's why they're criminals.

So, you have a database that is comprised almost 100% of legal, responsible gunowners. Why do you need that?

Even though I think Ten is one of the smartest people on this thread, I cannot imagine where he sees any benefit to this.
