With the anti-science bent of the Republican party, more and more are self-identifying as Democrat and fewer ad fewer as a Republican. Still, a large percentage don't identify as anything. (2) the chart is about the tendency to support government control of the economy. This is incorrect. Hi tejek; People reading about the polarization of the parties and that nice chart need to be aware that (1) the chart was made by US academics who are probably rather left wing, and (2) the chart is about the tendency to support government control of the economy. You can come up with all the BS excuses you want but the GOP has moved so far right that its leaving its own members in the dust. There can be no better testament than that. In other words, it's not about things like gun control, which seems to be the topic of the day. Who said it was? The argument about big government versus small government will eventually approach a crisis. When we can no longer pay for big government. I'm calculating this as happening about 20 years from now, depending on how fast the rest of the world catches up to us economically. And that's what you all have been trying to do......starve gov't so it will collapse and then you can proceed to eliminate any semblance of democracy this country still has. Increasingly Americans are getting what your diabolical plan is and are fighting back. That's why you all lost big this past November.
