If it is easily scratched or dented it will really only be suitable for very cheap phones.

Hardened and scratch resistant plastics are one piece of the puzzle.

As for foldable phones etc... I'm incredibly skeptical... its like 3D interfaces, we've been hearing about them for years. I never thought they'd come to fruition. Think about paper in brief cases. You could have folded documents and put them in your pocket. Nobody did. Everyone carried brief cases. People STILL carry brief cases.


I can see any number of drawbacks to stuffing papers into your pockets. Assuming that the technology hurdles are overcome, what exactly do you see as the drawbacks for foldable screens?
