Well, I googled the new owner, he has basically no internet footprint at all. "Knight Sac Media" seems to have been created for the purpose of this transaction, bizapedia.com lists another owner, Eric Helsgott, who's pretty much equally obscure. And I don't think Henderson, Nevada, is in danger of becoming the Silicon Valley of the desert any time soon. Oops, looking it up it's basically a Vegas suburb, so I guess it's got something going for it.

Longhurst does seem to have a variety of business experience, and maybe there's enough cash flow from ads or whatever that it makes sense as an investment. With a little bit of work they could probably put the whole thing on AWS or something and get rid of most nuts-and-bolts system management, or maybe that's already been done. But alexa.com says that SI is the 16685th most popular site in the US. Oddly, it does better in Canada, where it's 4k-ish in rank.
