This is either the death of SI or a brave new world. I definitely see a path to a happy ending (though it does involve a pretty massage therapist).
Sheesh. And I thought I was the Czech optimist around here.

Czech pessimist: It cannot get any worse!

Czech optimist: Yes it can!

My understanding was when Brad took over a few months ago this forum became an automatic subjectmark on everyone's list. If that's the case then there are more like 26,000 members here than 200,000. It would be easy to delete the subjectmark, but I doubt most would bother. In the world of facebook and twitter a social company with this number is pretty small.

It will be interesting to see what direction the new owners will take. If survival of SI is at stake then changes will have to be made. If not then I don't see things changing very much. There are lots of steps that can be made to attract new members here if needed.

I think one of your ideas has some merit (at least I think it was your idea). A name change may be needed as many are turned off by the idea of joining an investment forum. Silicon City does have a ring to it that might make some take a look at this site.
