Beleaguered. Besieged, perhaps, but beleaguered was the key word.

The Rodney Dangerfield of stocks.
(Ha ha - young'uns wouldn't know that one either. Oh wait they'll google it.)

OT:

Okay if you're a young'un and are inspired to google Rodney, also google a fellow by the name "Bing Cosby"

That man was an example of grace poise diplomacy and subtleness, which has been somewhat lost.

I knew a guy - when I met him I instantly realized how great Bing was because it was plainly obvious that Bing was the example by which this guy lived, without me asking him (and it was something left unsaid)

BTW, Bing is before my time :-), the guy I knew was almost twice my age :-).

Almost.

<BESIEGED>

What about "BELEAGUERED"

That one is a classic.

Whoops, I just went back a read ahead and SP already covered that.
