The law was not passed based on movie assassins from the '60s and '70s like you and the NRA tries to pretend, It was passed because of real experiences with the suppressors of the day. Which weren't nearly as good as the ones available today. Note that the fee for licensing a suppressor is $200 and was imposed in the 1930s. Now $200 is a fair chunk of change the currency of today. Imagine what it was in the 1930s. That shows you the magnitude of the threat they saw in those less efficient suppressors of the day. And they had actual experience with them.
