I believe it is safe to say that Wayners is referring to democrat politicians and the regulators they appoint when he refers to feudal lards. It would be difficult to imagine what you suggested.

"feudal lords".....you are talking about the Koch Brothers?

They seem to epitomize what's right with America. They afford-ably supply some of the amenities that make our lives more pleasant. Their extensive charitable activities include think tanks that promote that social organization that has proven its vast superiority. They pay their employees very well, with excellent relations extending even to the highly unionized sector of their labor force.

What am I missing?
