When Nixon and the gold standard went out the door so did any means of monitoring what could be dumped into the ecconomy at any one given time. Back then, you just couldn't turn on the presses and push out a few hundred million just for kicks. I bet 80% of the people out there have no idea what fractional reserve banking is, yet every bank in this country of our thrives on it. What to you think people would do if they knew that if everyone came and closed out their checking and savings accounts for cash the bank would have to close the doors about the time little more than 1/2 got paid. It's funny how as a businessman if you run a company totally on cash flow its considered high risk yet in banking its business as ususall.
