I can't believe this, just about a month ago they downgraded the stock, it's all a game these big boys play, they were buying during that sell-off and now they want to sell it at 55.

I am glad that I was patient with SUNW.

Pierre

We should probably credit the Saloman analyst for going out on the limb and being the first to upgrade (after the downgrades following earnings). I won't be surprised if other analysts jump on the bandwagon. Only goes to prove that these guys are as much at sea with respect to short term movements as the small investor. At least the knowledgeable small investor does not flip flop on his views regarding the fundamentals due to minor blips in accounting earnings.

Well this is getting a bit ridiculous that even a school kid knows by now that these analysts are a bunch of jack-ass con-artists! When SUNW was in the low 30's (just a couple of weeks ago) all these analysts were saying SUNW is a hold at best and/or dead money for the next 6-12 months! And if you recall was it not Prudential that called SUNW as the best single investment idea of 1997 a few months ago when it was trading in the mid $40's and then called it a hold (at best) when the stock was beaten down to the low $30's?!!! Well, all of a sudden the stock becomes a Buy when it is at $39 and it was a hold at $31?!!!!! Do these analysts know that the number $31 or $34 or $36 is much less than $39?! Better yet do they know the fundamental concept of investing is to buy low, and sell high?! At surface it may appear they do not know this very concept, but in fact they do know it very well. And it is unfortunate that they buy low and sell high at the expense of small investors listening to their con-man tactics! I remember just a couple of days ago someone mentioned here that he had sold his SUNW shares (at $36) because some analyst on TV had mentioned that the stock will be dead money for the next 12 months or so (see siliconinvestor.com. I will not be surprised if that analyst was actually from Prudential!!

I am just so disgusted and sick of all the dirty games these so called analysts (i.e. con artists) play on small investors and I wished somehow there was a law to prevent their nasty games with the small investors...
