I think that there is an important lesson to learned here: Have the product ready to sell the day they announce it.

How many times did we hear SJ wax poetic about the next great thing and then say at the end of it:
"And it is available for purchase TODAY."

Cook is the supply-chain guru. He needs to put that expertise to use to make sure that this doesn't keep happening.

The fact that he feels compelled to provide an answer like that is, too me, more worrying than anything else.

Those are the actions of a CEO who is, indeed, thinking about share price.

IMO, etc.

Or, in other words, the shortfall in Macs was NOT due to the iPad cannibalizing sales. Period.
