The other high-level management "bad news" was of course with respect to Apple stores. FWIW, I was shocked at the new store in Palo Alto recently. It was big, brightly lit, all glass, but there was a 5or10-to-1 employee/visitor ratio!! I never saw anything close to that in the locally famous original store down the street(now closed). There was always a bustling energy in there. Here there was an attractive all glass front, lots of iPads & whatnot available to browse, and swarms of eager newbies clad in bright blue to greet you, but none of them were knowledgeable re a simple iTouch question i had. (i wish i had taken this visit more seriously ... as an omen!)
