The US is far from having the highest debt to GDP ratio. Debt to GDP ratios by country And the US has one advantage that no other country has, it is the world's reserve currency. Granted, it could lose that status if it abuses the privilege, but there is no sign that time is even close. When there is even a little concern over the state of the world's economy, you see them dive for the dollar. Which is why comparing the US to Greece is ludicrous on many fronts.
