It was more of an evolution than a revolution.
Perhaps, but it also seems to mark the decline (and demise) of netbooks and the beginning of the Post-PC era.

I think part of the problem is labeling the iPad as revolutionary. They took an iPod Touch/iPhone and enlarged it. It was an awesome new product category but they essentially expanded the screen size. It was more of an evolution than a revolution.
I don't know.

That differentiation is such a subjective measure. You can always find evolutionary characteristics in revolutionary new products. Just as the future is connected to the past through the present, all things new are derivatives of that which has gone before.

Perhaps the measure should be the societal impact. After all that is the implication of the term "revolution."
