I agree, it's CM who has Apple by the ----- and not the other way around. If Apple thinks otherwise, I hope it's right. All smiles, all politeness but in the end sorry. If it hasn't already been mentioned, I won't be surprised if they come out with their own phone and freeze Apple out altogether.

Every business that competes in China has to put up with Chinese (political) culture.

It doesn't matter really. The only businesses that have an advantage are home grown and even they must put up with centralized control.

The reality is greed.

As much as The Chinese dislike Japan, she uses a lot of Japanese products. Most of the buses in China are made by Hyundai.
Hyundai is Korean, not Japanese. The only reason I'm pointing this out is because I think there's a bit of a Google/Korea and Apple/China dynamic that's likely influencing a number of issues ranging from carrier deals to longer term manufacturing investments.

Manalagi, Apple is already in China. Their Chinese sales were up tremendously this past quarter, which isn't even the big one for the year. They've already passed the barriers that keep foreign companies out, and have become a massive employer.

CM is losing customers because its rivals sell iPhones. There's enough power to go around in this equation.
