I don't know that "many republican men are still stuck in the dark ages.." That is akin to Powel's accusation that there is a strain of intolerance in the Republican Party. Powell neglected to mention that racism pervade the democrat party.

Republicans prefer to be democrat light versus standing for something. They want what we had a decade ago, or to move slowly toward whatever democrats are pushing for.

You may be correct that some men are stuck in the dark ages. It appears the major problem is that democrats and media types are stuck in the dark ages.

Where Republicans fail is by failing to come to the defense of their own when the wingnuts attack. They all too readily leave their fallen warriors behind. One would think that they had never served in the military.
