I decant wines like this. It does improve them and I have a beautiful decanter that I love to use. The first Brunello I ever tasted was on a Costa cruise. They had some lovely wines with age available at very reasonable prices. The first night it was opened, I thought it ok but it was decanted and saved with my name for the next night. It had morphed into a spectacular wine. It made me a Brunello fan forever. While not a Brunello per se, Tignanello is a very good wine. Salud

Had this '06 Brunello Friday night after airing 4 hours... totally unimpressed. The leftovers were SO MUCH better on Saturday. Our "picnic dinner" in front of the TV was great however!
