COMS has a habit of buying havily when the brokerage houses lower their ratings. (Further evidence of the scam that is Wall Street). It may even go back up to the 40 range from here. And from there -- who knows. I hope it does. But what concerns me is Asian sales are weak, modem sales are suffering, margins are getting squeezed, and the Street seems ready to seperate COMS and CSCO even further on a valuation model. I hope COMS does not simply become seen as "a commodity business" like the disk drive disasters. IMO, it needs to be more consistent (the USRX channel inventory problems aside) in its realization of earnings and revenues (like CSCO) and it needs to become a stronger player in the high margin product arena (Total Control). Indeed, thats why it swallowed USRX to begin with. FWIW, I think COMS will succeed. The company has reinvented itself before. Its resiliant. But as a potential investor, I'm going to wait just a while longer.
