Obama isn't trying to kill coal. Cheap natural gas is. You know, the market picks winners and losers. Coal is losing at the moment. The industry should have transitioned to in-situ syngas a long time ago.But that would have required investment. Now they will have to do it under the gun. Not every company will survive. As to the pipeline, give me a break. I think the ones who opposed it were wrong, but that is hardly an assault on the oil industry.
