>>If a couple of more big warnings are ignored, I am thinking that this market is headed for 9000 by late January or so! I am not kidding!<<

Sooner it does it better it will be because I don't have to hold my shorts too long (I mean the other shorts, too cold these day wthout the first shorts ;-)).

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. There is enough stupidity out there to push us well past 9000.... Whatever Japan does to help themselves will be viewed as great news and its very doubtful the Fed will raise rates this month. Todays blow-off of COMS warning was the real kicker to me. I closed my longer term short positions and if I do anything it will be day to day long positions.... I'm not going to hold anything overnight because like a thief in the night the crash will come. But the market will ZOOM upward until that time comes. Nothing is going to temper this idiocy except a major pestilence type crash IMO. Happy Holidays

I hold 3COM puts and am hoping that it will go lower in the next few days. I was disappointed that it finished so strong today, but I think that it may be related to the Barron's article which basically said that when cable modems get popular in a year or two, 3COM will make tons of money. If people are buying the stock based on Barron's projection of huge future earnings, then perhaps the earnings for the next couple quarters are of little consequence. Just a thought.

Thanks for all of your input,
