RE Mike: Normal hold time is 4 days, but there is a few exceptions to that rule:

1: I won't hold puts over a Fed meeting because the markets usually go up due to
this accommodative Fed.

2: I won't buy puts period (regardless of what the program says) in the last week going into the
New Year. Market goes up over 90% of the time on the first trading day of the New Year.

3: Excluding No.'s 1 & 2 above and in normal market conditions:
4 days is my normal hold period, but this can be extended to 5 (or very rarely 6) if I get new confirming signals in the same direction and / or Buy No. 2 fills.

This parabolic market period we are currently in an exceptional and not the norm.
Put profit are few, far between and almost non-existent.
Call profit are abundant. Its almost a matter of talking yourself into another overbought call signal every morning.

Interesting tidbits and facts:
You might find this little fact about my trading systems amusing:
S1 (system 1) is a directional trend following system with trend counter...seq 1....seq 2...seq 3...etc....
S1: UC=7 UP=0 7C-8..................................FEB149C B1=1.60 B2=1.30
We are currently on Sequence No. 8 of the call trend (7C-"8") and everyone thinks this is such a big run up.
Guess what the record is for the most consecutive call sequences (long call trend)?? Anyone?
The answer is 28! If you want I can look up the dates.

Jeff

Now flat, this market is too strong to stay short at the moment but too overdone to buy... I'll just wait for the signal that will eventually come... still holding the long gold and silver from last night...
