Paul,

Wanted to send this by E-Mail, but since you do not have an E-Mail address here is what I sent to Kenneth earlier:

<As far as chess sets go I have only a few, with one worth quite a bit, but my pride and joy is a set made out of paper rolled and formed into each piece of the set! I had a high school class mate that has done some construction work for me and he has a younger brother that has always been in trouble with the law! Currently he is awaiting in our city jail to be transported to the Arkansas Correction Facility for car theft! I ask his brother one day after reading a story on him in the local paper if he would make me one and how much he would charge me! A month later the police chief called me down to see him and he had a set made for me, and did not want anything for it! I offered him money, but refused! He has always treated me with respect and really is a good kid, but has some problems! I'm going to see if he will make a piece so I can send it to you and see what you think and if you are interested in one I'll see if he will make you one and how much he would charge! Let me know what you think and I will let you know later what I find out from him!>

If chess is really an interest to you please let me know and I will see about sending you a piece to show you!

Paul or Jim. Since you guys are the balance sheet wizards...

The IDC report states that server revenues account for 17%
of systems revenue and account for 10% of Dell's
overall revenue.

ASP's are just a revenues divided by units sold and Dell's
came in at $2625 for Q3. But these numbers say something
different.

10% of Dell's Q3 revenue is 318M. If 318M is 17% of overall
system revenue, then pure systems revenue would be
1.87B. Using the 1.215M Q3 systems number, this yields a
base hardware ASP of $1540.

Comments?

More fun with TA!

Regarding Paul's quality post on trendline analysis... here is
a statistical update on the Dell's down trend.

If you begin your trendline anywhere between 9-17-97 and
10-24-97, a total of 28 trading days, and end today, then yes, technically, it's a down trend (barely). If you start your
trendline anywhere else in Dell's trading history (9.5 years)
then, technically, it's in a MASSIVE uptrend.

Another interesting bit of voodo is the fact that from
10-24-97 to the lowest point on 11-13 was 14 trading days.
From the lowest point to today is 14 trading days. That
equals 28 trading days again!!!

It's all in the charts man...
