When a dandy gets into financial trouble if they act like they are in trouble the whole world catches on and their financial house of cards collapses quickly. If said dandy continues to live the high life, they can find banks and other lenders to prop them up for years before the weight of debt makes continuing the charade impossible. Under Obama, the US is the dandy with no job. A society can survive and possibly even thrive with slightly less than half of the people working. If you recall, prior to WW II few women worked outside of the home except for the time between graduation and (gasp) marriage. This however requires that each of us adopt a deadbeat and keep them under our roofs to work as an unpaid domestic servant. ;-)
