I had the same experience in college. Back then, it was just a few hippies on campus, and the left-wing profs wore ties so you couldn't tell. In fact, the most obvious hippies were relatives of a left-wing prof. He left for some university in Syracuse and got busted for hosting pot parties.

LOL! Yea, they are operating on a different plane... OTOH, it's these types of guys who see the bigger picture (Rogers, Soros, etc.) that make all the great calls in the stock market. :)) I think Soros is afraid to make the call on the Fed like he did the bank of England just cause he's old and scared.... he sees it.

BTW... this dippy guy is right of course... ask any physicist. Most "causes" are simply "necessary pre-conditions"- LOL

A "necessary pre-condition" to a financial disaster is.... being broke! So now that the country is broke (and I mean DEAD BROKE... fed is stuffed with worthless assets and i rates are zero... no help) all sorts of "disasters" can happen that couldn't happen before. For example lets' say we had some sort of "crop disease" that caused food shortages... as the govt tries to spend ANOTHER couple trillion a "financial disaster" could occur that wouldn't have (been full blown) in another time and place.

"Linear thinkers" will blame things on the event immediately preceding something without taking "necessary preconditions" into account. It's essentially the same thing... classical vs modern physics :))

My favorite example as of late here on this board is "Obama caused the Arab Spring"... ummm... yea, right... Obama got elected, Arab Spring happened... SEE!!! ROFLMAO! The funny thing is, from the perspective of some of the guyz running around protesting in the ME why all this happened you'd (obviously) get an entirely different story.

In fact I'd argue Obama wasn't even a necessary precondition to the whole thing... but that's another story... IMHO crummy greedy leaders and lousy systems of government were operating in the back ground and a major necessary precondition... but that might just be the self righteous American in me. :))
