Talk about false equivalences. I find it amusing that you are pretending the Newt never ran for president.

And you are conveniently ignoring the many Republican scandals. You mentioned William "Cold Cash" Jefferson as an extreme example. And that was bad, but it pales in comparison to Randy Cunningham, who had an actual menu of bribes and what he was willing to do for certain dollar amounts. He plead guilty to accepting more than $2.4 million in bribes for swinging defense contracts to defense contractor Mitchell Wade. And Wade was not the only contractor he worked with.

Not to mention the Abramoff scandals. There hasn't been anything close to that since the Teapot Dome scandal. Which was also under a Republican administration. Sure, the Democrats have had their share of bad apples and corruption, but they have never institutionalized on the scale that the Republicans did during the Bush administration. It was truly a kleptocracy.

Don't get me started on stupid comments by Republicans. In the last election alone they could have filled volumes.
