In this case,IMO, no. FAMH closed up one penny or level from its low bid for the day. If this book was indicated at the close at the high of the day,
no problem. I ask myself why weren't any market makers willing to stand in front of the other. Unfortunately the answer probably is that none wanted to buy it. also no mm was willing to join customer orders at a higher bid, perhaps somewhere in the middle. Remember too that these quotes do not reflect islands, only mm's bid/asks. To sum up,
active stocks like FAMH has its mm's changing all day long, so a "down or up book" taken in of itself is not a good indicator, but in the context of the entire day's trading it can be very useful. Volume tends to move to size. The lone MM at .35 at the close was a very eager seller.
