Democrat corruption over the last three months Democrats are harping on the corruption of the Republican Party. Please note that Democrat corruption in government is widespread and far reaching. I could have listed many examples of Democrat corruption such as Sandy Berger stealing documents from the National Archives- however- I decided to look at headlines over the last three months. The below are headline from September - just over 3 months of Democrat corruption. - An independent counsel who investigated possible tax violations by former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros charged that the Clinton administration thwarted his efforts to get to the truth. - U.S. Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) is under criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department for possible bribery in exchange for promoting business deals in Africa - Federal prosecutors alleged in court documents that Ernest Newton, a former state Democrat Connecticut senator worked with a reputed mobster and his associate to try to stop police raids on businesses and advance their business interests - Clarence Norman Jr., the longtime powerbroker of Brooklyn NY Democrats was found guilty of intentionally soliciting illegal campaign contributions. - A top aide to Jim Black, the Democratic speaker of the state Legislature of North Carolina, resigned amid reports he had received payments from a company hoping for the lottery contract. The .State Board of Elections is investigating Black's campaign finances. The investigation comes after the group Democracy North Carolina said it found evidence that video-poker operators were funneling money through unsuspecting donors to Black's campaign. - West Virginia.Logan County Clerk Glen Dale "Hound Dog" Adkins admitted to selling his vote for $500 in the 1996 Democratic Party primary, while Perry French Harvey Jr. pleaded guilty to conspiring to bribe voters in last year's Democratic contest - Former Democrat Gov. Donald Siegelman of Alabama was charged in a "widespread racketeering conspiracy" that includes accusations he took a bribe from former hospital executive Richard Scrushy for a key state appointment. - Frank Ballance - a former Democrat Rep. from North Carolina was sentenced to four years in federal prison for conspiring to divert taxpayer money to his law firm and family through a charitable organization he helped start. Ballance, was a state senator before being elected to Congress in 2002, also agreed to repay $61,917 and to forfeit $203,000 in a bank escrow account in the name of the John A. Hyman Memorial Foundation. - Five Democratic activists in Wisconsin accused of slashing the tires of vans rented by Republicans on Election Day 2004 are currently on trial - Chuck Chvala, a Former Democrat Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader was sentenced to nine months in jail for felony misconduct in office and illegally funneling campaign contributions. Chvala had reached a plea deal with prosecutors earlier this year, admitting to charges that he directed a state employee to run a political campaign and used an independent expenditure group to funnel campaign contributions to a fellow Democrat. - Brett Pfeffer, a former legislative director to Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting bribery of a public official and conspiracy. - Raymond Reggie, a New Orleans political Democratic consultant and fund-raiser who is Senator Kennedy's brother-in-law was sentenced to a year in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to bank fraud charges.

After a "guilt by association" tactic of invoking Bush as a criticism of congressional Republicans, now you focus on who you perceive to be the bad actors. I'm not interested in a pissing match on Rs vs. Ds, but there is zero doubt the Ds lead in the corruption race. If you want to narrow the scope a bit, fine. We can start with the Chair of the House Ways & Means committee, since these are the people of in charge of raising the money for the government. Let's talk about corruption among this select group, shall we?

According to Judicial Watch’s annual list of the most corrupt politicians in our federal government, it’s basically a toss-up. These are the people who represent our families, including our children, in our government. This year’s listing includes 5 Republicans and 12 Democrats, including Barak Obama, and Attorney General Eric Holder. Here’s the Top 10 List, alphabetically: Alabama Congressman Spencer Bachus (Republican) – the fall guy for the insider trading scandal that was report by CBS’ 60 Minutes in September of 2011, based on Peter Schweizer’s book Throw Them All Out. It detailed how Bachus, among others, was given privileged information about the impending market collapse so they could trade stocks accordingly and profit nicely. Nevada’s former Senator John Ensign (Republican) – in May 2011, the former Senator stepped down after the scandal broke that he allegedly paid his former mistress, Cynthia Hampton, and her husband, Douglas, “hush money” (through his parents) and gave Douglas a lucrative lobbying job, violating Senate “cooling off” rules. Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings ( Democrat) – Hastings, a former impeached federal judge, is being investigated for a lawsuit filed against him by a former staffer Winsome Packer. Packer is claiming Hastings wanted a sexual relationship with her on numerous occasions and when she wouldn’t comply, he retaliated against her. Attorney General Holder (Democrat) – almost too many to list here. He has denied knowing much about the gun-running scandal known as Fast and Furious where Mexican drug cartel leaders were sold American guns and subsequently killed an American border agent. He openly said he will ignore the President Clinton-approved National Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). He dismissed the case of voter intimidation against the New Black Pathers, even though they had already pled guilty. He has ties to the now-defunct ACORN which has been accused of voter fraud. You pick your favorite. Illinois Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior (Democrat) –In December, the House Ethics Committee announced a probe into Representative Jackson’s involvement in “pay for play” in the scandal that took down former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. “Blago” was convicted of making a deal to replace President Obama’s Senate seat with someone who gave favors to him. President Obama (Democrat) – 5 straight years for the president on this list. Again, where to start? The now defunct Solyndra, run by one of his biggest contributors; ACORN, overriding The Constitution on so many occasions (including just this week), telling Boeing where they can build plants, etc. Again, take your pick and read more details on the Judicial Watch website. California Congresswoman Laura Richardson (Democrat) –A freshman to this list, Representative Richardson is being investigated for misusing her staff for campaign efforts. She has also been in hot water of calling for emergency use of helicopters to go site-seeing and getting preferential treatment after missing mortgage payments on multiple properties. Florida Congressman David Rivera (Republican) – He’s in trouble for alleged money laundering and tax evasion and is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Miami-Dade Police public corruption unit, and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office. Here’s a hint – when you’re a Representative and you’re associated with a dog track, things probably won’t go well for you. California Congresswoman Maxine Waters (Democrat) – Under investigation since 2010, she is being looked at for recommending, with help from Massachussetts Congressman Barney Frank, OneUnited Bank be given Trouble Asset Relief Program (TARP) money. At the time, her husband served on the board of the bank and held stock in the company. That’s what most people call a conflict of interest. Alaska Congressman Don Young (Republican) – This Representative was recently cleared of an investigation surrounding some campaign contributions that exceeded the limit. His past includes the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” in Alaska as well as some interesting campaign contributions that correlated to his help getting a road in Florida funded. He also has a history of ties with the convicted lobbyistJack Abramoff. They also put together a “dishonorable mention” list of the following seven additional folks: North Carolina’s former Senator John Edwards (Democrat) – indicted in June of 6 felony counts of misusing funds surrounding his attempt to cover up the affair he had with a former staffer. Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank (Democrat) – his list is long including his involvement in the OneUnited Bank situation, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the collapse of the mortgage market. Georgia’s former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (Republican) – the presidential candidate has some troubles from the past including influence-peddling and some questionable lobbying practices. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Nepolitano (Democrat) –in an unprecedented move not uncharacteristic of this presidential administration, Nepolitano has granted amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants without the approval of Congress. The legislative branch of our government seems to be a hindrance to the White House. California Congressman Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) – insider trading, misuse of military airplanes and looking the other way of her colleagues’ practices put her on this list. New York Congressman Charles Rangel (Democrat) – censured by the House for 13 ethics violations, he remains in his seat, proving that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius (Democrat) – her issues surround “Obamacare” which has granted over 1,300 waivers to companies and unions to not participate. Interestingly, 50% of the waivers are for union members which make up 12% of the working population. If this is such a great idea, why are so many unions bailing on this program? The constitutionality of this law will be decided by the Supreme Court this year and we’ll see which side of the law she ends up on. Interesting food for thought from both sides of the aisles – these are the people we know about. Who else has their hands in the cookie that we’ll learn about this year?
