i don't see why states can't regulate sales to criminals and mentally deficent. I haven't seen anting indicating the NRA is against that either.

FWIW, the 2nd amendment is specific to armed citizens keeping their government in check. that's it.

It does require:
- a desire to do so
- a decision to do so
- a commitment to do so

Forcing somebody to do something, might make it happen but won't give a stable change and only promotes tyranny. Good change only happens when people choose to change.
