The part that is BS is that the citizens are just prey. 99% of the shootings are in Black neighborhoods, where the police hardly police. It's all gang related, probably 100% non background purchases, don't offer 90%. And remember most of the kids shot in Chicago aren't old enough to be armed..so the axiom of "it's takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun" just doesn't apply here in Chicago One morning a short drunk black guy comes up to from behind outta nowhere offering me a "Glock" for a sawbuck If we had 3 shootings in any white hood, Rahm and Co. would be all over it.
