"It's hard to believe that at one time, the scientific concensus was that the universe was eternal and there was an infinite amount of time for incredible things to happen"

Stop trying to pretend you have a brain, Nim!

If there is a "God"...and the fact that WE invented the idea (thousands of times!) without any evidence...certainly speaks against it, doesn't it..HUH!? -g-

then time and space are certainly as infinite as little mite--who showed his ass to Moses (nobody knows why!!)--(Show me your ass so I can believe!!)

The Nature of the Universe says NOTHING about why burning flesh
(most of which goes to the "Priest" and his family)...smells so God Damn Good to a Being (two-armed-two-legged-two eyed-and two testicled)...who was claimed by Nimrods (with a Power Pull)...to be UNCONDITIONAL...DUH!!!!!

"I find natural science discoveries inspiring too"

LOL! Yeah. the Nim who pastes crap from Creationist web sites saying that Evolutionary Science should be removed from the schools and replaced with Creationist SUPERSTITIOUS CRAP!! The Nim who thinks there were no rainbows until Yabber changed light after the flood to make rainbows as a covenant! Like before that refraction just did not work!! LOL!!

Also thanks to science we know about the universe's incredible fine tuning and that life is based on elaborate information encoding systems, something natural laws just can't produce

It is an argument of convenience to think all was fine tuned just for life but more probable & far more powerful a view that life is fine tuned for the universe. It may seem this all fits naturally & neatly casually as you swim in your own little pond but the reality is most of the universe is quiet hostile to life.

Inviolate natural laws have done quite a good job of explaining everything from nucleosynthesis to photosynthesis, in time explanations will be found for the information encoding in complex systems more completely. An emergent phenomenon. Pretending its impossible is what is illogical for we have tested & verified shared DNA with the most rudimentary life forms we can safely assume were the original progentitors & the theory of evolution keeps being validated with more transitional fossil discovery.

Science is doing quite well , now with the Planc mission we should be getting much more clear data in of the structure & phase formation cosmologically very soon. If anything i would admire the Christian Naturalist Philosophers the most, they seemed to be the most creative in discovery, inspired, tolerant, open minded, far seeing & productive.

The same, of course, would apply as fully to Islam.

(am quite sure Jesus if alive today would be a scientist or doctor, one would have a very hard time believing he would choose to be a poitician!)
