Take universal background checks for gun purchases

Light on details - long on blame.

So how about a gift to a family member?
What about a gun handed down?
Who pays for the FFL processing fees?

If the democrats who love to spend taxpayer money (for the public good) step up and say the government will pay the transfer fees FFL's charge - then support would grow. Besides the check is for the publics benefit - not the gun seller or buyer.

The current political discussion is just as off focus as the rest (from my Battle Ground list).

The real problem we need to solve is not well defined as "Gun Violence." We support the largest violent armed force the World has known in over 4.5 billion years , called the American Armed forces. Cops kill criminals, private citizens kill criminals, and criminals kill criminals. I don't really have a problem with that. I do have a problem with criminals attacking or threatening decent law abiding citizens of our country. Frankly I don't see you focused on that at all. What I do see you focused on is conservatives and their guns.

I wont argue if you want to point out that the right wing doesn't compromise. I already know that the right-wing is just as prone to causing as much damage as possible to the left-wings fave rights list as the left-wing is prone to causing as much damage as possible to the right-wings faves. Over all result is more and more damage, not progress ... and the beat goes on.

How to ignore a national consensus
What is the national consensus on gay marriage? Open borders? Balanced budget? Union membership? Capital punishment?
