A reasonable idea: <I'm stayin' here and standin' my ground. > People have said to me, when I moan about various things, "If you don't like it, why don't you leave?" as though I don't have the right to complain or suggest improvement. I explain to them, "I happen to own this country and I am not leaving it for scum to take over."

But sometimes, such as when Germany decided to go the Nazi way, there is not much alternative, apart from escape. Jews who did not escape, died en masse.

It seems hard to imagine when things are good, as Germany was, that things could go so horribly hideous. But they do.

But so many people have little clue about why things are as good as they are and what makes things bad that it's easy to see why things do go belly up.

I would prefer to have the option to sell up and leave, taking my share of value with me. But that's not an option at present. People world wide are serfs of the state and all they can do is stay, grin and bear it, or leave taking only their personal property with them, if they can find another state looking for another serf.
