The law firm of Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP said the suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of purchasers of 3Com stock between May 19, 1997 and November 6, 1997. The complaint also alleges that top executives at 3Com sold shares of stock with prior knowledge that the company's public statements about modem sales were false and misleading, the law firm said. 3Com was not immediately available for comment.
