it is not clear that Saddam and Usay Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi, and the Assads were any worse than the "democratic" outcomes.

Given the current situations, are you suggesting that we return to a similar starting point for Libya, Iraq and Syria? Maybe we should let things play out for a few more years before deciding.

We are in the process of seeing democracy in action across the middle east and it is not clear that Saddam and Usay Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi, and the Assads were any worse than the "democratic" outcomes.

I see you have drunk the "democracy" kool aide along with western governments who were naive to think that Libyans, Egyptians, Syrians and Iraqi's will immediately become peace loving democrats. The same result happened in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, where tribalism immediately came back to the fore, but somehow the western world has either forgotten or refused to acknowledge the facts. The Arab Spring is in reality a a return to tribalism which can only have two outcomes: the break up of these countries or the rise of a new, ruthless dictator who will keep the peace with bullets. What is really sickening is the western world armed many tribes in Libya to overthrow Quadaffi, allowed them to loot Quadaffi's arms depots, and now they are spreading jihad across North Africa, Mali being the current hot spot. The western world is reaping what it has sown through naive stupidity.
