NICS - National Instant Check System A gun registry is one of those things that sounds brilliant but does nothing useful and costs a fortune as Canada discovered. The guns criminals use aren't registered to them and they don't leave guns at the scene unless they themselves are at the scene wounded or dead - making a database useless as you already have them in custody or have DNA. As for gun manufacturers - yes I want them to be successful - America supplies 40% of the worlds guns, not just domestic consumption - why in the world would we want to kill our manufacturers and let China take over the world market. Haven't we lost enough jobs already.
