What I see is a bunch of yahoos threatening insurrection. The Constitution is very clear on the topic. There were three, one under the Articles of Confederation and 2 under the Constitution. So it isn't like they were unacquainted with the issue. Views were mixed, Jefferson thought the rebellions were good. Others were appalled, like Washington and Adams. And this split led to several crises, but eventually the strong central government groups won out.

So, 3 rebellions, a war and a couple of centuries of jurisprudence says that these people don't have the rights they think they have. They don't know the relevant history and seem to have a weak grasp of reality.
