If someone is truly determined to get a gun this isn't going to stop them, or even slow them down.

Someone determined to kill another human being won't be stopped for lack of a gun...we don't make murder legal because all murders can't be stopped.

If a person is convicted of white-collar crime, nonviolent drug "crimes", or other nonviolent felonies, I don't see the connection. There is certainly no indication denials for such things save lives.

Maybe...but someone who commits any crime gives up some constitutionally protected rights...why not this one?

I took Prozac for several years to treat mild depression. This is part of my "electronic medical record".

I don't know the answer...rules have to be set. But again, these are largely outliers. The point is that many gun transactions take place because they are not subject to a background check. How many of them will not take place at all simply because the buyers will not have an incognito purchase?

When you consider the rights given up by allowing an incompetent government to get in the middle of your personal life, for me, it isn't a sensible trade. I respect the fact that others have different views; but people ought not to allow themselves to be railroaded by an incompetent, arrogant president into giving up basic rights.

What rights are you giving up? You can still buy a gun...you simply have to undergo a background check. Your argument doesn't hold water.
