That's what you think. I think that people went through a spell of personal austerity - but that can last only so long. Balance sheets of individuals have been repaired quite a bit and now we will see. Most people who could refi saw their monthly payment go down by 20%+. That is a huge amount of savings that can now be plowed back into personal pleasure. And I don't think people who are spending $100 for a meal for 2-3 are going to go broke any time soon.
