A friend of mine in Toronto who works in advertising - and directly for Thorsten Heins at RIM - received a new Z10 two days ago. He thinks it's awesome.

There is certainly a subset of people who have felt abandoned for a while, went to iOS or Android for a while, hopefully bought the Playbook and who are coming back to the company for Qnx.

This is a relatively small group, but it may, sadly, dwarf Microsofts attempts. I hope they come in as a strong number 3. How big that market is, is hard to say though.

I share your alarm! One would think that a Canadian company like BlackBerry (with 80 million subscribers)
would at least get more than half on a Canadian Z10 phone release. I mean it WAS in the local stores. You
shouldn't rush over here to the Apple thread to tell us the good news. You should post this to a BlackBerry
thread, but tell them you are not short.
