Raj: You make the point very well...In the past (and this
goes back to the 60's) - I made a lot of money for myself &
brokerage customers - using Joe Granville's system of On-
Balance-Volume...then they brought in listed options which
negated the system entirely for those stocks envolved. Stocks
like 3Com...As Isaid before - J. Livermoore bragged about
painting the tape AND also "running the shorts"!!! When I
was a broker trainee in LAX - I used to hang out in the firm's
trading room. It was fascinating to a kid. Several of the
traders were not much older than I was and tended to
befriend me. Slowly I figured out how one or two kept their
"position sheets" (which told them whether they were long
or short and I what prices). Since this was snooping on my
part - you know I was quite sneaky (I thot) about what I
knew. Well, one Monday I waltzed inot the "pit" and
"casually" glannced at Artie B's book...it was in CHINESE.
"Whats's the matter Don? Don't you know Chinese???"
No long thereafter - I was sent out to "my" branch in Pasadena.
Thanks. Don

Raj,,nasdaq volume is double volume,,,they count the buy and sell side,,as opposed to say NY,,where the buy and sell is considered as one transaction,,,in a very active issue as you are describing ,,there is going to be a lot of mm back and forth trading,,,dogs fighting with dogs over the scraps possibly dropped by the big boys,,,
