The phone home feature sucks. Even my DISH DVR won't let me watch stuff I paid for on the DVR it it loses touch with the satellite. I guess that is how the protect against cloning boxes... sucks during big storms every few years when the trees and rain flurries turn it on and off... I think it is the entertainment industry and Google YouTube that use lawyers to go after anyone who makes it easy to put a copy of something on our PCs onto DVDs... I heard in Japan it is easy to make copies of BluRay onto DVDs as their laws allow it. It is almost enough for me to want to learn to do it all myself and write my own code...
