Interesting. I've heard of companies doing splits because the stock price had gotten so high it made it harder for small investors to buy. That would be the public rationale, anyway. But needing to split because the price had gotten over a $1? Aren't most British stocks quoted in pence on the LSE? For some reason do they like to stay penny(or pence) stocks over there?
