Thread, received an interesting e-mail at work today. Employees of the company can purchase three different Compaq's at discounts. Prices ranged from $799 to $1799. I didn't look closely, but I don't believe monitors were included. No other manufacturers were included in the message. I found it interesting because I work for a Houston employer with several thousand employees. I wonder what other such deals are being cut around the country. If anyone is interested, I will post the text of the e-mail, blocking out the name of the employer.

kai, to some extent december is a game of bluff. peopel want christmas discounting and they know the closer to yr end the better chance of bigger discount. plus, no matter what if the household hasn't purchased a pc then the IRS allows 100% write off for the pc if you use it for investments, etc. etc. So, it needs to be purchased before dec 31st for that
