Compaq's price point for the MediaGX is now $749. Compaq will use the
K6 in the $999 slot. Both will go lower. It' appears that the K6 will cut into the surrent Pentium 166MMX at $999 not the MediaGX.
Jeez, Stockboy, with all these tier ones using the K6 I'm starting to wonder if there is some concerted effort to bring Intels pricing policy to it's knees. Seems like the K6 snowball is gaining size as it rolls down the hill...especially when you look at last year at this time. Now with those 3.3v K6's really cheap to the OEM's...whew <G>

I believe INTEL sees the writing on the wall for under $1000 PC's and the fact that the cpu's are becoming a commodity....that is not their business since they like the high margin products.
