Look, you can blame this on only republicans if you like - and I have no intention of defending what they did since it was perhaps the worst idea to impact us economically ever - but in my opinion you are rewriting history to make the claim that the GOP acted alone. The Bush Tax Cuts were enacted in 2001 and if memory serves me right there was something like 12 democrats who voted for the cuts. See link below;

Jump forward to today; these tax cuts were proposed to end in 2010. But again politics being what they that didn't happen did it? Who again was in charge then? Look, I'm not defending republicans - just the opposite - but Krugman is just flat out dishonest to say the debt is all the fault of the GOP. This is a problem that belongs to all the bastards in Washington and until both sides climb off their narrow minded ideological high chairs and start thinking of the long term economic health of America - they are doing nothing but trying to out piss each other. Annnnnd that includes Krugman.
