To say this isn't a part of the problem is just lunacy!.....Plus that Krugman can blame this all on GOP without even a hint that there may be other things such as cost of medical care and demographics is fundamentally dishonest!

It's been clear you disagree with Krugman on this point for some time. For a rather long time, in fact. I get it. I suspect everyone here gets it.

But it is a disagreement about what's the more important cause rather than whether something is a cause at all. I have little doubt Krugman could list items the Dems have done to contribute to the present state of the debt that seem to have little intrinsic policy merit.

But that list is my list, not necessarily Krugman's. And it's my point that the main drivers of the large debt we now have come from GWB's actions.

it's a very simple point to make--budget surpluses by the end of the Clinton's period in office, deep budget deficits by the end of GWBs period. And we know the major decisions that contributed to that.
