Despite Obama’s Claims, More Americans Side with the NRA than with HimFebruary 9, 2013
Last week, President Obama continued with his campaign to stir up support for his gun control measures by speaking to a crowd in Minneapolis, a town once plagued with gun violence.

His speech revolved around an insistence that America and, more specifically, American gun owners agreed with his approach to limiting Second Amendment rights. He claimed,

“We don’t have to agree on everything to agree it’s time to do something. That’s my main message here today.

And each of us has a role to play. A few weeks ago, I took action on my own to strengthen background checks, to help schools get more resource officers if they want them, and to direct the Centers for Disease Control to study the causes of violence…

So we’ve been able to take some steps through administrative action. But while these steps are important, real and lasting change also requires Congress to do its part and to do it soon, not to wait. The good news is that we’re starting to see a consensus emerge about the action Congress needs to take.

The vast majority of Americans — including a majority of gun owners — support requiring criminal background checks for anyone trying to buy a gun. So right now, Democrats and Republicans in the Senate are working on a bill that would ban anyone from selling a gun to somebody legally prohibited from owning one. That’s common sense. There’s no reason we can’t get that done. That is not a liberal idea or a conservative idea; it’s not a Democratic or Republican idea — that is a smart idea. We want to keep those guns out of hands of folks who shouldn’t have them.”

Obama’s insistence that America agrees with his stances is a familiar theme in his speeches. When discussing tax hikes in the midst of the tense fiscal cliff negotiations, Obama referenced a perceived “mandate” from the people to raise taxes.

However, despite his assertions that Americans are welcoming the campaign to limit gun rights, the evidence does not suggest as such.

A recent Quinnipiac poll shows that 46% of Americans believe that the National Rifle Association better reflects their view on guns while only 43% say that Obama better reflects their views.

In a January Gallup poll, 54% expressed a favorable opinion of the NRA while only 53% expressed a favorable opinion of President Obama. At the time of publication, the Gallup rating for the president was at 52%.

Furthermore, Forbes’ Bruce Rogers noted,

“[We've studied] the data for the week prior to the Sandy Hook tragedy and trended the data over the subsequent 5 weeks to determine the ebb and flow over the gun control debate. We found that the NRA and pro-gun rights voices are winning the influence battle and will continue to be strong and more influential if the pro gun control voice remains fragmented.”

If President Obama intends to push anti-gun rights legislation, it seems that he may have his work cut out for him because at best, slightly less than half seem to agree with his stance. To counterbalance the significant influence of the NRA as well as the overwhelming support of gun owners who wish to keep and maintain their Second Amendment rights, Obama and Congress would have to have overwhelming support for their agenda. And despite his oft-repeated claims of representing the will of the people, Obama’s agenda does not seem to resonate with the majority of Americans.

Judge Cynthia Brim: Next Obama Pick for the Supreme Court?
From Obama’s Chicago, which continues to brim over with lunatic moonbattery:

A Democratic Party-backed judge who won re-election in November while facing battery charges was found not guilty Monday — by reason of insanity.

The insanity verdict could aid the judge’s effort to return to the bench.

You read that correctly. In a world run by liberals, being ruled insane can advance your career.

Bar associations have recommended since 2000 that Brim be tossed from her $182,000-a-year job, but voters have kept returning her to the bench.

Brim is a leftist of color. That’s all voters ask these days, as recent presidential elections attest.

Testimony revealed that Brim has been hospitalized five times after suffering mental breakdowns in the 18 years since she was first elected. …

Brim, 54, was diagnosed years ago with a bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder, which means she experiences delusions and hallucinations, psychiatrist Mathew Markos testified.

Among Her Dishonor’s misadventures,

On March 8, Brim was asked to leave the Markham courthouse after going on a tirade while presiding over traffic court, sources told the Tribune last year. The next day, she read a newspaper story about a Cook County judge who was using lots of sick leave and decided to complain to the judicial board, which disciplines judges, about what she viewed as an unfair story.

But she took the wrong bus and ended up on 47th Street, so she decided to make a “march for justice” up to the board’s Loop offices, Markos said. After walking more than 5 miles, she at some point went to her attorney’s building, but got off at the wrong floor and refused to leave a different attorney’s offices…

Following a bizarre outburst in the Daley Center, during which she denounced the unjust judicial system,

Brim was walking east on Randolph Street and ignored requests from Deputy Herbert Edwards to stop, he testified.

Edwards said he finally stepped in front of her and stood his ground before she reached Dearborn Street, and that’s when she shoved him, he testified. The judge was then taken to the lockup in the Daley Center’s basement.

That’s how she added the battery charge to her resume.

Brim is no isolated case. Readers will recall that the drunkard Jesse Jackson Jr recently ran for reelection in Chicago from a lunatic asylum while under investigation for corruption. He won easily. Still more appallingly, a Marxist community organizer who specialized in facilitating voter fraud, forcing banks to make race-based loans, and riling up parasitical trash in South Side Chicago slums was elected President of the USA.

Supreme Court Justice Brim would fit right in with other Obama selections.
