Wharfie, Senor Columbus was not English. He was one of those evil-doing Spanish. I meant the English conquest.

The large mammals of the Americas were not pleased when they met the marauding primates from Asia. The carnage was horrific. <Do you perceive things from the perspective of woolly mammoths? > They were warm-blooded and frightened. I dare say the mammals of north America were even less pleased to meet the English. Times were tough all around. Invasion is rarely good for those invaded, unless it was the English who brought common law and a much improved way of life such as in New Zealand. Islamic Jihad was apparently quite good for many of the invaded too because it freed them from their totalitarian masters.

Can I just fly to the USA and become an "undocumented worker"? Cool. I thought there were visas and stuff.
<Sorry, son, this is the USofA. That claptrap doesn't fly anymore. You gotta pay decent wages plus, if you want yer fruit harvested. Either that, or hire undocumented workers. > Are there minimum hours I have to work, or can I just hang out at my house, beach and downtown? I take it I can buy a house or would I be a second class citizen? When did the USA open the borders to all comers? Are there background checks, such as "Are you an Al Qaeda member?" I'm all for being "undocumented" too. Documentation is so tedious and bureaucratic.

What a great country!
