Certainly did not intend to minimize this issue And I totally agree that our preoccupation with domestic security borders on the irrational and we are paying accordingly I have taken my shoes off a hundred times because some asshole stuffed a firecracker in his shoe But I sincerely believe that left to his own devices, this would not occur under an Obama administration This is an artifact of an administration that doubled down on terror against the US by extending it to everybody and then using that very terror to terrorize the citizenry into allowing it to to do whatever it wanted And enough of the Republican stringers involved in that policy are still influential enough to make healthy change impossible So until the folks who are still sucking in the millions off of that wrong headed policy bent are brought to heel, nothing will change And blaming it on Obama is naive
